A thought provoking phrase in Ezra 4. People of God, the devil is going to throw all kinds of things in your way to try and “frustrate your purpose”. Don’t let him! Keep your eyes on Jesus! Amen!
Please promote this event and come and be with us for this great one night heritage camp meeting June 19 - looking forward to a wonderful service honoring great men of God!
What a blessed day at Southside Baptist Church Waycross! Second highest attendance since I have been there as pastor; we almost tied the highest attendance we had at Easter. A great spirit! A great God! To HIM be the glory! Amen!
This ole boy is tired! 🥱 😬
For better or for worse: I could not have done better, she could not have done worse! 😂 May 10th makes 23 years. Hard to believe! Time passes way too quick.
She has loved me, stood by me, put up with me, prayed for me, and supported me in the ministry all these years. She is the BEST! I love you Pamela!
There is an amazingly aggressive enchantment coming from the underworld! “Walk in the Spirit and ye shall fulfill the lusts of the flesh!” Push back w/ the Word of God hid in your heart w/ every fiber of your being, every waking moment of your day! Pray, “deliver me from evil!”
The very first piece of advise concerning preaching and pastoring, came from my pastor James E. Avaritt back in 1997. He said “get your convictions settled, and stand on them. They will constantly be challenged by people. Know what you believe and why you believe it.”
He was so very right! I have learned through the years of ministry, you better stick to His Word, seek the Lord and His will, and let the chips fall where they may.
There will always be those who think you as a preacher is too conservative, while at the same time, others will think you are too liberal. There are those who will say “you preach too loud,” while others will say you are not loud enough.
People will say you preach “too hard” on sin, others will say, you don’t preach nearly hard enough.
There is the danger of preaching to man and constantly trying to please and appease people. You will stay haulted between “two opinions.” You will be double minded.
Get your convictions settled, based on His Word. Stand by them, and on them! You will “win some” and “lose some” people/friends/family, but if you are seeking to please HIM, you will be blessed!
Friendship. The older I get, the more precious it becomes to me.
I’m honored to call these two brothers in Christ my friends. The Lord used both of them in a mighty way tonight at Southside.
Brother Eric Justice did a tremendous job leading the music and singing a couple of specials. Brother Justin Atchison brought powerful and encouraging words to the Southside family.
I cannot tell you how much their visit to Southside this past Sunday meant to me and to our whole church.
My Brothers, thank you for being a blessing, an encouragement, and a friend.
Sometimes the first thing we ask for is a changed circumstance, but what we most need is the presence of Christ.
Sometimes before He stills the storm around us, He brings peace within us.
Sometimes before He changes the sea, He changes the saint.
Sometimes before He alters the conditions, He reminds us of His closeness.
“Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go: Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul.” - Proverbs 22:24-25
Be careful concerning those who so easily burn bridges and severe ties, especially in the name of “taking a stand”.
Sometimes, separation is necessary. However, sometimes it is driven more by personalities and pride than biblical principles.
We don’t have to be twins, to be brothers!
I so enjoyed preaching in The Crown
Bible Conference at The Crown
College of The Bible in Powell, TN.
Pastor, Derick Morlan is continuing
to lead the College and Temple
Baptist Church in the ways of
Scriptural Truth.
