This isn't a hypothetical "perfect sphere falls in perfect vacuum" situation. The air resistance would cause the diver to miss the pool: perhaps slamming into the diving board if not the road. Objects thrown from a car window do NOT keep pace with the car!

@victorckumar Statistically, married men live longer than single ones while single women live longer than married ones.
