Heard a theory the other day that reading, especially fiction, allows one to develop empathy by learning through others’ struggles via the characters.

Number thirty-one (and this evening’s read) was “Of Mice and Men” by John Steinbeck. This was read via the beautiful Artist Edition from @suntupeditions.

Number thirty of 2026 was “Star Wars: Tales from Jabba’s Palace” which is another collection of short stories as edited by Kevin J. Anderson.

Twenty-nine was “Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire” by Steve Perry (not the lead singer of Journey).

For my twenty-eighth book, I chose “In Dubious Battle” by John Steinbeck. Nearly one hundred years old and still rings very true.
