Rest in Peace Melanie. Still shocked she is gone. If any of you didn’t know we lost an amazing friend and colleague.

fundraiser in memory of Melanie Sage, a woman whose love and kindness touched so many. Her family is facing unexpected ICU costs after her passing in Mexico, and any support would help ease their burden during this difficult time. https://t.co/MZBI7dsrgi

Can’t believe my first tweet back on X is because of how much I dislike the new Liquid Glass feature on iOS 26 👎

Super excited to have finally received this book. The Future is looking good now that this is in the world. #SWFutures #AnticipatorySocialWork

[Barack Obama @BarackObama]

Right now, Republicans in Congress are trying to push through a bill that would put millions of Americans at risk of losing their health care.

They want to cut federal funding for Medicaid, take away tax credits that help more people afford coverage, and raise costs for working class families.

[Robert Reich @RBReich]

Today would be a great day to ban members of Congress and their families from trading stocks, don't you think?

[Jimmy Young, PhD, MSW, MPA @JimmySW]

I'm happy about the tariff pause, but when does it become market manipulation at this point?

[Acyn @Acyn]

Obama: Imagine if I had done any of this. Imagine if I had pulled Fox News’ credentials from the White House press corps. Imagine if I had said to law firms that were representing parties that were upset with policies my administration had initiated, that you will not be allowed into government buildings. We will punish you economically for dissenting from the Affordable Care Act or the Iran deal. We will ferret out students who protest against my policies.

It’s unimaginable that the same parties that are silent now would have tolerated behavior like that from me, or a whole bunch of my predecessors.

Taking phones off the internet boosts mental health.

People were randomly assigned to block mobile internet for 2 weeks. They socialized, exercised, and read more—and became happier, less depressed & anxious, and more focused.

Being unglued from devices is good for well-being.

Excited to be the opening Keynote Speaker at the Social Work Distance Ed. Conference @SWDEConference in 2 weeks. #SWDE2025

Warren Buffet’s Berkshire company sold tons of stock and built up cash reserves. He really must be the Oracle of Omaha because look how markets have performed in the last month 😭

[Brian Krassenstein @krassenstein]

The people who think we can lower the deficit while giving tax cuts to corporations and the ultra-wealthy—and eliminating income taxes for anyone making under $150K—are the same ones who believe you can lose weight on an all-donut diet, while never leaving bed and drinking a case of beer at night.

At some point, reality catches up… but by then, they’re too blacked out to notice.

[Jimmy Young, PhD, MSW, MPA @JimmySW]

Geez that stock market 📉 🥲
I remember a time when the President used it as the sole measure of a Presidents worth. I guess the goal posts have moved again. Maybe they were town down 🤷‍♂️

US employers cut more jobs last month than any February since 2009. Thanks for sparking a recession Elon!!!! https://t.co/aCv1tlYpoH
