The ringed plovers are back at Gibraltar Point, with 20 paired-up birds already on the shoreline.
They lay their well camouflaged eggs in a scrape in the shingle, making them extremely vulnerable to accidental disturbance, dogs and even being trodden underfoot. 🧵1/3

Coastal erosion at Gibraltar Point has recently exposed WW2 anti-tank defences, the reserve was an important and strategic defence point during both World Wars. If visiting to see this amazing history, please keep off the structures @LincsWildlife @dynamicdunes
