Attorney who practices in IL real estate and estate planning (Wills/Trusts). Big fan of NFL Draft/off-season. Of all my roles, being a father is most rewarding
Here's why Josh Simmons currently is my ideal 1st round target
• Best pure LT this draft
• A year to develop under Braxton
• A big upgrade over Braxton
• Resets the LT contract - an absolute cheat code
Def subject to medicals - nothing less than a full recovery

Agreed Mack would be a great add, but if Poles only has one splash move in him, I’m hoping for an impact DT since the edge group is already generating pressure - maybe a Jeffrey Simmons type
Khalil Mack is a likely trade candidate from the Chargers after their 0-4 start, per @AdamSchefter.
Mack, who’s on an $18 million expiring contract, has three sacks in four games.
Ben Johnson to the Bears locker room after their win over the Jets:
“You guys know what next week is? You guys know what next week is? Alright…enough said.”
The Bears play the Packers next week. 👀🍿
@Kirsten_Tanis1@J2Kdesigns Yes, having the ultimate cheat sheet in Ben Johnson completely changes the equation. It's incredibly plausible Poles leans heavily on BJ’s vision - the entire Bears roster dramatically improved the second Johnson was hired. We hit the lotto with BJ
...Gervon Dexter 6'6 320 24years old - entering 4th season. Excited to see him continue with his new home/scheme in ATL
13 QB Pressures thru 3 games, and tossing around iOL at POA. Dude has length/power combo that is a pain to deal with... Jager Burton overwhelmed.
@J2Kdesigns Poles might have 'final say' on paper, but having the ultimate cheat sheet in Ben Johnson completely changes the equation. It's incredibly plausible he leans heavily on BJ’s vision - the entire Bears roster dramatically improved the second Johnson was hired.
@Kirsten_Tanis1@J2Kdesigns As for Tua, a $1.2M league-minimum flyer seems to be a textbook zero-risk swing at QB. If it fails, you just move on with no dead cap. I do feel giving away strong DT talent hurts a roster far worse.
@J2Kdesigns He knew Dexter from Chicago, traded for him almost immediately in ATL, put him in a better fit and just committed $78M to him. Thats solid GMing
@J2Kdesigns That's fair on scheme, but sayin Ian had "little say" is an assumption, too. He was Poles' assistant GM when Dexter was drafted - we don't know who advocated 4 whom. That's actually my point. Now Ian has his own team and we're finally able to evaluate his decisions independently
@J2Kdesigns Dexter is especially interesting because Ian was there when CHI drafted him, then went and got him almost immediately once he had his own team. Meanwhile, IDL is still an area Bears could use help
