God willing, in the next decade, I would love to be a full-time venture capitalist (VC) with at least one of my ventures having scaled operations across East Africa, Africa & beyond. The social impact I would love to achieve would be provision of jobs & opportunities to youths.

Kenya is limiting the sale of carbon credits to other countries to 10 million tonnes until 2030 to ensure it keeps enough credits to meet its own climate goals.
The country has also launched a carbon credit tracking system, with a local carbon trading market set to launch in March 2027

The older I get the more I realize, calm is the real wealth. Living a very private life. Away. Alone. Observing. Thinking. Learning. Being bored. Creating something meaningful. A quiet day, sunlight, coffee, music, books, and stillness. That'll do.
The Kenyan Government promised to pay DT Dobie's taxes. And DT dobie believed them.
Now DT dobie has been ordered to pay 1.1 billion shillings to KRA.
Here's what happened.
DT Dobie imported vehicle parts into Kenya. Normally, customs taxes are payable immediately.
But the Government stepped in and told DT Dobie: ndugu import all the parts you need first. We will pay your taxes later.
DT Dobie trusted the promise.
The company imported the parts without paying the customs taxes, expecting the law would soon be amended to exempt those imports. Or the government would do an RTGs transfer to KRA.
The amendment or RTGs never came.
Years later, KRA came knocking. KRA wants its 1.1 billion in unpaid taxes.
DT Dobie argued that it had relied on the Government's promise and that it would be unfair to demand the tax after encouraging the imports.
The court disagreed. It held that government promises cannot override the law. Until Parliament changes the law, the tax remains payable.
DT Dobie lost. It must now pay 1.1 billion to KRA.
Lesson.
- Promises are not tax exemptions.
Respect your parents, unemployed friends, family & partner. Don't confuse someone's current season with their future. Hard times don't last forever. The person asking for help today could be the one opening doors for you tomorrow.
TABLES TURN.
There is certainly some truth to this. A supportive family, access to quality education, financial stability, and strong networks can provide a significant head start in life.
However, I don’t believe our background has the final say. While we may not choose the family we’re born into, we can choose the financial decisions we make and the legacy we leave behind.
One person can change the trajectory of an entire family. Through financial literacy, disciplined investing, and intentional planning, you can alter not only your own future but also that of generations to come.
