Chrystia Freeland will announce more spending and more programs in her budget next month, supposedly to help the middle class, without telling us about how much more debt and future taxes this will bring.

And yet, there’s a cheap, quick, and easy way to deal with our most important economic problems: Drastically cut the number of people entering Canada.

It would lower demand for housing and allow construction to catch up and prices to go down.

It would reduce pressure on healthcare, education, and other social services.

It would reduce business reliance on cheap foreign labour and force them to increase wages to attract local workers, as well as invest in productivity improvements which is the key to long-term growth.

It would bring more sustainable economic growth that benefits everyone, instead of a fake boost that’s not even strong enough to raise GDP per capita and that makes us all poorer.

In short, it would strengthen our economy, increase wages, make housing cheaper, and mitigate the deterioration of our services.

It would undoubtedly benefit Canadians — actual Canadians living here and to whom the government is accountable, not the millions of new instant Canadians that the government creates.

So ask yourself: Why is it that all the establishment politicians in Ottawa prefer to pander to immigrants rather than advocate an easy solution that would cost nothing to improve the lives of Canadians?
