Belgium did tonight what USA did in opening game vs Paraguay. Took game to an opponent that seemed tentative and grabbed all the early momentum. Unlike Paraguay, USA actually got back in the game at times but inexcusable mistakes were their undoing.

I’m not a big soccer fan but enjoy the World Cup. I might be more of a fan if games were like Iran - New Zealand. Both teams seem intent to play a chaotic style leading to lots of chances.

Feels like I just watched 16th seed UMBC beat #1 seed Virginia in the NCAA tourney. Not a win but Cape Verde tying Spain was an awesome result for the huge underdog. Props to the bettors who took the 10-1 odds on the draw

So many times I watch the US break into open space near the goal yet no shot - instead a pass to try for a perfect shot. Just seems sometimes guys need to take the shot on goal
