@clandestinewing@Tenerius The internet is a social conditioning machine with much of it's modern focus being to extract profit from the innate human desire of self expression. So it's kinda funny that twitter may have unwittingly conditioned it's users to more readily skip or ignore ads in their feeds :p
@clandestinewing@Tenerius The natural aversion to being advertised to doesn't really explain the discrepancy though, because if so wouldn't we see similar numbers on the other site? Or maybe it's a distinction in the (unintentionally) conditioned culture between the two? 1/2
@clandestinewing@Tenerius The weird thing though was that he got twice as much attention on the same post where he has 4x fewer followers. So either this website does suppress external promos and links or people just don't care about such posts, or both.
@27_negative @Schaffrillas It hurts as a huge Chris Sanders fan to see another one of his brilliant works lose to a film that shines just a little brighter that year. Lilo & Stitch fell to Spirited Away and now Wild Robot gives way to Flow. Ah well no shame in losing to fellow genuine masterpieces at least
@ButtsharbABDL It takes a brave heart to be so full of self doubt and yet to open up anyway. I can't imagine a vulnerable little in my lap as anything more than a sweet baby who needs that soft loving reassuring moment and understanding more than anything.
@CroixAlmer Precisely yes! I've never liked the word genius used to create this cult of hero worship full of unrealistic expectations. It is not that they are a necessarily great person, but a great act that they have done, that they are the vessel for.
@CroixAlmer Limitation is always frustrating by it's nature. But even for all those masters out there, genius is but a momentary spark that leaves as fast as it comes.
And then they too are back to their own mediocre. A poor consolation as that is
@CroixAlmer All the world will be your enemy, prince with a thousand enemies. And when they catch you, they will kill you.
But first they must catch you.
@quantumHippolog Bluey isn't aimed at non-parent adults? Yet some topics it covers or references are death, infertility and miscarriage, evolution and creationism. I've been a brony since 2012 and I honestly don't remember FiM mentioning anything this mature. :p
@quantumHippolog @Ben_N64 The whimsy comes during dreams and imaginative play. They're not frequent but if you watch the series you'll find them and their exquisite charm.
@Saberspark@JaxBladeFitness@HatsOffMedia @PaleoSteno @CosmicMelodyLW @VivaReverie @Hirosashii @Toodles3702 Agreed especially seeing as it's about the Disney film characters and not the mythological ones. There would be a different case to be made otherwise, as in the myths even Zeus feared the Moirai. The point about it being their jobs is still spot on though.
@TalesAshes@Sethisto "Football" didn't refer to what you did with the ball it referred to how you played, I.e. on foot as opposed to on horseback. This was way back before you had leagues and universal rules for all the varieties of ball games, especially the poor folk who played on foot.
@KC_The_Pup Most introspective, you've articulated perfectly why I prefer a low profile. Some live for that shot of dopamine they get from the attention of the crowd, at the risk of it's fickle nature. I live for peace and quiet and good cheer among a small few.
@kinkypaddycakes Your introspection is solid and you shouldn't let my differing experiences, and particularly my ignorance, alter what you've taken away from the insight of another. There's no universally correct path in life. And the best wisdom is in finding your own truth and your own healing
@kinkypaddycakes Sorry hun, I've never been good keeping up with feeds, pertinent given the topic. I don't really think they work well enough though, more so that they balance out the constant cynicism. Little reminders of things others might even see as negative often put me at ease.
@kinkypaddycakes I suppose I just accept it and go with the flow rather than be frustrated by it. The problem is no one can really help how something makes them feel, only how we choose to react to it. So just a few deep breathes and some positive affirmations to myself helps a bit.
