Really believe that ADHDs, if they play their cards well, might be the biggest winners of this AI gold rush

Cause unlike corporate careers rewarding consistency & compounding, the new world disproportionally rewards curiosity, obsession, rapid switching and intensity

The basic problem with ADHD in the old world was that curiosity was expensive. You’d get obsessed with some random idea, spend 3 days learning everything about it, want to build something, then realise you need 6 months to learn how to code / design / whatever (or pay someone who can) and eventually move onto the next thing

But AI completely changes that equation because the distance between “wait this would be cool” and actually testing it has collapsed from months to sometimes hours. You can get curious about some niche industry in the morning, understand the basics by lunch, vibe code something in the afternoon and potentially have people testing it that evening. So this disproportionately rewards people whose natural state is basically jumping between rabbit holes, connecting unrelated things and occasionally becoming insanely obsessed with one of them

AI is also slowly deleting the boring middle. A lot of ADHD people aren’t necessarily bad at starting things or going insanely deep when something captures their attention, they’re bad at the 200 repetitive steps between “this is exciting” and “this is finished” (boilerplate, formatting, basic debugging, admin, iteration, etc.) And those are increasingly exactly the things you can delegate to AI, which means the economic value of being insanely curious + occasionally obsessive probably goes up, while the cost of being bad at repetitive execution goes down

But there’s a massive catch, because AI is also creating the greatest distraction machine ever invented. Every morning there’s a new model, agent, tool, business model or “once in a generation opportunity” to chase, and the same brain that benefits most from cheap experimentation is also the one most likely to spend 5 years being extremely early to everything and compounding absolutely nothing

So the actual winning combination might actually be ADHD-style exploration + artificially imposed constraints: explore aggressively, follow weird rabbit holes, test way more things than a normal person would, but once something works force yourself into sprints where you’re simply not allowed to play another game

For most of history the economy disproportionately rewarded people who could reliably do the same useful thing for 8 hours a day, 250 days a year. For this weird period of AI, the returns temporarily shift towards people who can obsess over 20 things, connect 2 that nobody else connected, then disappear for 3 days and build the thing

The 2026 Commonwealth Games have kicked off in Glasgow, and there's almost zero buzz. It seems the Games' popularity is declining every year.

As the Games kick off in silence, the UK streets are still loud with far-right, divisive rhetoric painting Black & minority communities as threats to "native" British culture, which is a staggering irony given that the very existence of the Commonwealth Games is proof that British history is inextricably tied to the global Black/Brown diaspora.

As those Javelins fly & the sands scatter, it is still reminiscent of the projectiles Empire used to secure its future. These countries were the backbone of Empire. They financed the very infrastructure, cities and institutions modern nationalists claim to protect.

For centuries, people from the colonies were legally British subjects. They were invited to rebuild a broken post-war Britain. They didn't arrive as outsiders; they arrived as citizens.

The current political landscape relies on and counts on historical amnesia. The far-right ethnonationalists want to claim the trophies of Empire—the global influence, the stolen wealth, the historical prestige—while pretending the people of that Empire never existed.

You cannot celebrate British history on the sports field while criminalising it on the streets. Black & Brown communities aren't a threat to British culture; they're British culture. Until the UK faces its past with radical honesty, the sociopolitical climate, like the Games, will remain what it is today: a ghost ship sailing through a nation too terrified to look at its own reflection.

This all sounds tough, but in reality it’s not just performative cruel, it’s incredibly stupid.

People fall into difficulties sometimes, they just do. You don’t have to be British to be impacted, we saw that with Covid for eg.

If you blanket deny the state safety net to one group, all you do is create child poverty, vulnerability to loan sharks, destitution & misery in our communities. This actually is bad, not to mention more costly in emergency services, for everyone.

If you want to keep people on ILR/ Visas for 10-15 years without any safety nets in a country where literally everything, from the government to the private sector, was designed with the idea that people will have that safety net, then you should exempt them from paying taxes that go that Welfare pot so that they can get private insurance & savings to protect themselves and their families.

They cannot contribute their money to a large welfare system that they are not going to benefit from. What kind of extractive system is that?
When will the British Empire stop trying to squeeze every last bit it can from people and leave them high and dry?

This is not even taking into account that the same people that you want to exclude make up the bulk of the Labour keeping that Welfare system running.

First-world countries will invite immigrants to fill jobs, but won’t educate citizens on why they need immigrants to fill those jobs.

When the citizens start complaining, they will pretend to be tough on immigration, fully understanding they caused the problems.

This could technically be seen as an indictment against a previous version of you. Would it have been okay to label your views as unintelligent then? Certainly not!

We’ve all been frustrated in many ways by Nigeria and Nigerians, but we must try to be less condescending while sharing a different way of thinking about the issues we grapple with so people can be less defensive and more receptive to our ideas.

And that right there is where your problem starts. You still believe that YOU platformed Peller and his fellow creatures of the Nigerian brainrot swamp. Let me break the news to you:

THE. ALGORITHMS. ARE. BLACK. BOXES.

You do NOT know what goes into them and how they work. That story you heard that "the algorithm only shows you more of what you engage with" is a completely false statement, right up there with "crypto is decentralised and outside the state's control."

People have actually tried to take the platforms to court to open up their algorithms to public scrutiny, and the US court ruling which you can Google and read by yourself said that THE ALGORITHMS ARE PROPRIETARY. In other words, they are protected by IP law and you legally are not allowed to know how they actually work!

You did not platform any of these people! White guys in Silicon Valley did! You are not the one "making stupid people famous". Larry Ellison, Elon Musk, Sergey Brin and Mark Zuckerberg are the ones deciding who becomes famous in your society.

That is exactly why western social media platforms are banned in China and Russia - they want to retain the power to determine their own internal conversation. And by the way, China was accused of using TikTok to engineer US society the same way, which is why TikTok USA was forced to sell a controlling stake to Larry Ellison.

Stop misdiagnosing your problem, which is lack of sovereignty. "Nigerians are stupid and like stupid things" is not an intelligent explanation of how the world works! Only a simple minded person takes everything at face value even when superior information is so readily available.
