Sam and Mia, Medicare and Medicaid is a trust fund that is supposed to be self-sufficient. Unfortunately, the government does not limit obligations to the amount that is brought in each year as taxes for this trust fund. So this is why the trust fund goes $1.5 trillion in the whole each year and the government has to borrow money to pay for it. I’m a CPA. I’m not critical of the program. I’m just telling you financially it is unsustainable as such. I have nothing against the Medicare and Medicaid program. It’s all about choices. The entire federal budget outside of the trust funds is only like 3 1/2 trillion dollars. The trust funds are the big deficits that we have to borrow money to fund. I hope that makes some sense. Healthcare is extremely expensive and if you want that to be a priority of the government and to be unlimited, then we’re going to have to literally do away with other things or raise taxes.
