Like why have the buddies in a supposedly skill-based game if a losing player can just overtake and steal it from you since they had better rolls

From what I've read it seems even more unbalanced despite the fact they removed all the luck based events since at the end of the day Mario Party's still a game of the dice, like if your rolls are crap it's even worse since the game mode has no charity mechanic
