@KiraHishotori I think it has to be something extraordinary for the situation and context in which it occurs.
Your example, for instance, would probably get through when watching Netflix at his apartment, but would not get through at the proctologists (or if joking about it somehow)
@planefag I look at these and remember they aren't allowed open windows.
I think they might be conflating a technical limitation with a legal one. Europeans never rid themselves of the serfdom mindset
They find old guns and invite the military into their home to take them away. Publicly!
@KiraHishotori "You are really good at fitting in and getting along with all the different cliques" -high school physics teacher
"You are a gentleman and a scholar" -7th grade history teacher
@AriZonanHODL Yeah Ford screwed up the CDF drum (it would lose its seal) and the clutch pack housing thing (they made it out of aluminum. The thing that engages the clutch plates and transfers all the power. Made from soft aluminum)
So I looked for that when I was (briefly) considering a Ford
@planefag "You forget the heat once it has passed the throat" -allegedly Japanese proverb
Sometimes I go back and get hit with a vivid reimagining of the emotions from the Years of 2 Weeks.
The emotions have dulled a lot in the daily grind. Not sure if good or bad.
@Fat_Electrician I think it's a ploy to use outrage of the "average person" to turn AI into a toy/tool exclusively for the wealthy and powerful. Like the NFA and $200 tax stamp.
An AI transformation is coming and will be painful--but is necessary. The choice is if the final form is centralized.
@KiraHishotori Congrats!
I'm not sure about "wifey" but if I think of/call someone "wife material" I would intend it as a compliment.
Guess it depends on alignment to one's core values?
@simonsarris Cholesterol is a really deep field: there's LDL-C, HDL-C, Triglycerides, ApoB, LDL-P, HDL-P, sdLDL-C, VLDL-C, Lp+a), ApoA, lathosterol, desmosterol, beta-sisterol, campesterol, etc., all engaged in a poorly understood & complicated dance that influences health outcomes.
@simonsarris While interesting, I think you need to be careful interpreting this data. Kendrick points out that "Cholesterol" is looked at as this singular health metric (for historical reasons), but it's such a simplification that most conclusions are functionally wrong.
You know, people seem to have taken the concept of "racial prejudice" and moved all the evil of prejudice onto the word "racism". So they act like racism itself is evil, but prejudice--in any of it's many forms--is perfectly okay.
@onehappyfellow Maybe related: Rand identified what she called "anti-concepts"/"package deals": taking a word with definitive meaning, a word with a different/suggestive meaning, and treating them as identical to destroy the original, valid concept.

@Dianexis If you're lazy you can just order Chipotle catering. It's ~$110 for 10 people, so pretty easily 2 meals a day for the 5 day work week. Maybe longer.
It seems like a lack of personal responsibility. Which may be somewhat understandable, but is nevertheless inexcusable.
Shimano brakes: very nice, easy to service, but I've brushed up against their limits and the four-piston ceramic pistons, while cool, can be a bit brittle. Great brakes.
Juice Avid Sevens: you put the bleed port *where*?
@DabsMalone If I duck tape a mig welder to the end of a 6 D.O.F robot arm and program it to "build" a structure from a pile of welds, would that produce something useable?
