@TexasLionel@anchoredso37497 I didn’t claim to have a rational mind. If we want to go the route of “we can’t know anything for certain” that’s fine. My brain was formed when the genetics from my parents combined. Luckily they both had triple digit IQs. Though the double digit crowd seem pretty happy 🤔
@StandswithGod@JoelMCurzon None of the gospels claim to be eyewitness accounts or even to be written by the names attributed to them. Most biblical scholars (even the Christian ones) agree on this. We don’t know for sure who wrote and edited them.
@PriestSwearing@maklelan Well it does condone beating your slaves so long as it only puts them out of commission for a day or two. If you beat them to death then god mad.
@cas189484@athiestboi The gospels were anonymously written and later attributed to Matthew, Mark, Luke, & John. Somehow they were written eloquently in Greek when Jesus and his followers spoke Aramaic.
@charlez_uzoigwe@God_Questioner The stance of “we don’t know how the universe came to be.” Doesn’t require a defense. You assert that a god created it- if you’re calling the mystery of it all “god” that’s fine. If you’re claiming it was the Abrahamic god of the bible, the burden of proof is on you.
@StandswithGod Isn’t it odd that we are punished for the sins of Adam and Eve who directly observed and were instructed by god, but we are expected to follow blindly with no proof of his existence?
@K48170Ka@xonphused I was a Christian for years and as I got older my faith waned. So I dove into the word, read the bible cover to cover twice while praying for guidance. And I walked away without any faith. Most say I read it “wrong” but in my heart I genuinely sought god and he wasn’t there
@K48170Ka@xonphused How do you manufacture belief or faith where there is none? If I tried as hard as I could, I could never believe the moon was made of cheese. I don’t know for certain, but even if I behaved as if I believed it, and told people I believed, in my heart I would know otherwise
@blankblank19836@AtheistPhoenix They are not mutually exclusive. One can be agnostic theist- believing in a god but not claiming to know that it exists. Or gnostic atheist- believing and claiming to know there are no gods. It’s belief and level of belief.
@lupetor88196019@MickMilee How do you choose to believe something? If you tried as hard as you could to believe that the moon was made of cheese, you couldn’t. You could act like you believe it, and tell others you believe, but in your heart it wouldn’t be true.
@spitefuljudge@AtheistPhoenix Science has demonstrated itself to be a valid method for determining what is and isn’t true. Not knowing how existence came to be is not proof that a creator god which we have no evidence of, & nothing to compare to, exists.
