Northeast India is facing floods, landslides, cloudbursts and extreme rainfall more frequently.

But why?

Is it climate change?
Is it deforestation and unplanned development?
Is it changing rainfall patterns?
Or are we simply not prepared for a changing climate?

We are working on a war footing to strengthen vulnerable embankments with geo bags in Darrang and protect the district from large-scale flooding.

Reviewed the progress on the ground and interacted with locals. The work will be completed in the next few days.
