Today, the Supreme Court of Appeal, has declared the decision of the Judicial Services Commission on 21 October 2021 to recommend Johannes Hendrikus Roelofse for appointment as a judge of the Mpumalanga Division of the High Court unlawful, invalid and unconstitutional. The decision of the JSC to recommend to the President to appoint him as a judge is reviewed and set aside.
