@sheepGeekCP@BrookeBCMoon Head is too tough with calluses from bumping your head over there year π all us baldies know bald people bump their heads more!
@darryn_browne@Glenn_SoilAgro@severnangus A lot of my internal fencing is a single wire at 1m height for cattle. Far more effective than the 5 wire barb with split posts. We are off-grid so blackouts are not an issue
@darryn_browne@Glenn_SoilAgro@severnangus Probably 3km fairest point away, but there is 5km of wire hot as I have branches peeling off all over the place on the way to the end point
@Glenn_SoilAgro@darryn_browne@severnangus We have over 5km single wire and make sure the earth is always moist. Not sure if that helps but there is still 6.5 at the end of the line
5 Shearers, 344 first run never used this system before- av 69/ shearer. All shorn, jetted, footbathed and out of yards by 9.50. Better get some more sheep in! At this rate will be done in 3 days. Half the time - who could do with an extra 3-4 days in spring?
Merinoselect users. We take it for granted but...
...Time for a history lesson. Some big names mentioned in this podcast with the all round good guy and humble Andrew Swan. Looks like an awesome podcast series! @DPI_Livestock @sheepGeekCP@AGBU_GENE

Super excited about this one. The goat meat industry in Australia is getting some real momentum with research projects to bring it up to speed with sheep and cattle

@Felix_Rams@sheep_data_mgmt I think it is a great little example of ASBVs working. Would hope for more clusters closer to slope if all animals genotyped and close relationships to reference.
Better than guessing in the sale yards!
@Felix_Rams@sheep_data_mgmt Correlation of 66% and 49%. Are they sire average plots Rodney or individual? Also, were the individuals slaughtered genotyped?
