Very honored to have been nominated and in the running with some really great photographers for the contest. Thank you all that voted and also @refocusawards for the Honorable Mention. Also, congratulations to Rebecca Moseman https://t.co/mibwC0PpRB
Well, here we are back at square one. I gave it a shot with a rebranding and failed...miserably! I've decided that the old reliable branding is just going to have to be good enough,So I'll just move on. We are back to just JAMES G. JACOBS PHOTOGRAPHY!
Will be back in 2025 and will be more consistent with post on this account. 2024 has not been a good year for me in my personal life...but nonetheless, I'll be back! Till then, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!
@Mike_TH1984 Thank you. I miss west Texas as well...Who knows maybe sometime I;ll be back out that way. Went through a split up and decided to leave and went to Tyler area and hated it, so I moved back home. This will forever be home to me
Well I guess it's time to catch up! I went home to Alabama during Christmas for a visit with family and sadly a funeral as well. My step mother passed away from ALS. These were taken on the Tennessee River in Muscle Shoals/Florence at O'Neil Bridge & Wheeler Lock & Dam
Hello all! Quick update here...I've not been on this platform very much lately as I have been on a little hiatus from photography. Moving to to a new place with so many people ( EVERYWHERE ) I've been a little uninspired lately. Don't worry, I haven't given up and will be back.
Wednesday morning I had to go super early just east of Dallas for my pickup, like I do most of the time. But I was running with a couple of other trucks ( the ones in front of me ). We left the concrete-crushing yard at sunrise and headed east.
Well, it looks like Fall has finally made its way into East Texas! The leaves are slowly turning into these vivid fall colors that I love!
I came across this while out visiting a couple of other lakes around the area. This road goes down to a boat launch on Lake Striker.
This old train trestle is down south of Palestine, Texas. It is part of the Union Pacific Railway that is still in use. The Trinity River is also about a quarter of a mile on down the track. I missed getting a shot of the train crossing it by about 5 min. Maybe next time!
This shot was taken yesterday morning at Love's Lookout Mountain in Jacksonville, Texas. This was a little after sunrise as I was looking out across the valley with lots of morning fog as a cold front was starting to push through.
Oh BTW! I have finally bought a new camera! Nikon D5300 with Nikon glass and a few extra goodies that go along with it. Unless specified, all shots from here on will be from the Nikon D5300
Leaves are starting to turn as the air gets thin and has a slight chill to it. Autumn is finally upon us here in Texas. Fog rises from the valley as the morning sun rises to warm up the surroundings as we start a new day.
I am absolutely honored and thrilled to be on the cover of the July ENVYD Magazine ( issue 152 open theme ). If anyone would like to purchase a copy either in print or digital, here is the link to do so. https://t.co/swRv90MieL
Thank you so much @ENVYDMagazine and everyone
Being that I'm from Alabama and I now live in Texas, I've been told ( several times ) you have to see a Pat Green show! Well, I finally got to see him at the Big Spring Rodeo..and WOW! What a great show! I totally get it now! @PATGREENMUSIC
No worries folks, I'm still around! Taking a break from social media a bit. Will pop in from time to time and post a picture or two. Hope everyone has a great summer and be careful with the heat. Yesterday it was 113 deg. at 5pm here.
This photo was at sunrise yesterday morning
