1) Jump in to help
2) Really listen
3) Present: in classrooms, hallways, cafeteria
4) Value teachers' time
5) Support/encourage them
6) Respect /value them
7) Have their back
8) Appreciate them
9) Seek input/feedback
10) See them as human 1st.
When I am asked my number one piece of advice for an administrator, it is simply to take care of your staff. A culture of care, support, appreciation, and encouragement is a culture when everyone can thrive. The teacher's work environment is the student's learning environment.

If your gen. ed program is not reducing the number of kids referred to Tier 2 and Tier 3, you have a Tier 1 problem.
You will not be able 2 intervene your way out of it.
