Grassroots music venues are the heartbeat of live music and vital for building artists, communities, and scenes. Support them by buying tickets early, joining mailing lists, and sharing their events online.
Light at the end of the tunnel for Grassroots Music Venues. People who say it can’t be done should get out of the way of people doing it.

As covered by @BBCNews recently, many UK towns and cities have seen a drastic reduction in live music because bands and singers are playing half as many gigs on tour as they did in the 1990s. As our new figures show, artists are now averaging shorter tours.
Having spoken with @JoeLycett about issues that grassroots music venues are facing, we’re very proud to endorse his #ManifestoForTheArts.

Those who know me are already aware that I don't like @coldplay Those who know me well are highly aware of just how much I really dislike them But this - this is brilliant. Take note @oasis because this is how it's done #supportgrassrootsmusic
People who say it cannot be done should get out of the way of the people doing it.
Thank you @coldplay for believing that a brighter future for grassroots music venues, artists and promoters is possible. https://t.co/KPABDqoSPe

Live music is not the property of an elite few who want to push ticket prices out of reach and squash competition. You can change this. Write to your MP today and together we can stop the gentrification of live music: https://t.co/6I9NCP5Mh5
Today is #WorldSuicidePreventionDay.
We can all help to prevent suicide by starting the conversation and creating a culture of openness, understanding and support.
Remember, it is not always obvious when somebody needs help.
This is amazing. But the flip is for the funding we got for them to originally record R&B, we’ve since been rejected for twice from Arts Council, and the regional body that funds it in other places can’t find the money to support it, so it’s currently not available in Yorkshire.
We strongly condemn the murder of Rebecca Cheptegei, the third elite runner to be murdered in Kenya. All suspects were intimate partners of the athletes.
No impunity for perpetrators.
The trend of #femicide must be stopped.

🚨NEW: Ticketmaster may have breached consumer laws by failing to warn Oasis fans that the price of tickets might soar while they were queueing, experts say.
It has also emerged that the company plans to apply “dynamic pricing” more widely. https://t.co/jpoWjQPFAS
It takes a village to raise a child & it will take the entire music industry to ensure the survival of grassroots music venues. Without them, we all lose, artists & art lovers alike. Act now before it's too late.
RT so @DCMS@lisanandy@RhonddaBryant can hear a very clear message from the whole music community on this issue
Oasis:
£200million+ tickets
£20million+ charges
£2million+ facility fees
A Big Fat £Zero invested in the grassroots sector
This is desperately required. As are responses to all the other recommendations in the excellent Select Committee Report.
Especially the fact that these Oasis shows have contributed nothing at all to the grassroots sector economy.
