They attempted to shut down this lady who was explaining the difficulties we face in competing with Somali spazashops. They completely disregard the same government regulations put in place to protect the public, allowing them to sell their goods at a lower price.
@_Msindazwe_ Whose fault is it?
They are in South Africa illegally?
I think you're free to house them or send them money or hire transport for them to go home?
I don't agree with watching ppl suffering... but who is to blame???
As someone who grew up in Venda, I can tell you that during the first wave of migration from Zimbabwe around 2004-2005, many Zimbabweans came into our communities. Many walked long distances to reach the villages in Venda, and all they asked for was shelter and food.
We welcomed them and offered support. Many lived with us in our communities without any animosity for a long time. However, due to changing economic and political dynamics, the situation has evolved to some extent.
Most of these migrants were young, barely between the ages of 15 and 20. They didnโt come as traders or businesspeople; they fled because of the dire economic conditions back home. We still live with them today in our villages in Venda and struggle together while building our lives.
It's disheartening to see someone, likely a privileged middle-class Zimbabwean, spreading negativity online that can damage the relationships between working-class people and Zimbabwean migrants. This individual is criticizing the very same people who have shown solidarity with Zimbabweans in times of dire need, and we continue to do so, even during difficult times for everyone.
While we may not have all our land back, we welcomed Zimbabweans into our villages during their time of great need and have lived with them in harmony.
Please do not listen to gaslighters or misleading narratives.I have attached a link from a long post I did on Facebook about growing up in venda with Zimbabweans. I called it "Sungura Stories, Sorghum Beer, and Police Brutality."

We gave the politicians the idea that they own SA. They now tell us, that our concerns are nonsense and that they will arrest us on June 30.We are SA, not the rest of Africa. We don't take BS from politicians.
Does anyone know where the R600 million came from overnight?
Last time, the government told South Africans ๐ฟ๐ฆ citizens that there isnt enough money for Madlanga Commission to continue with its work!! @sarstax#TaxRevoltSA
"When push come to shove, people must always be ready to be physically, theres no revolution that was ever peaceful"
Its obvious that we're going to have to fight our government to act towards illegal immigration, border control and high levels of unemployment๐ฟ๐ฆ๐ฟ๐ฆ๐ฟ๐ฆ๐ฟ๐ฆ๐ฟ๐ฆ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅโฅ๏ธโฅ๏ธโฅ๏ธAluta Continua

Why should South Africans ๐ฟ๐ฆ continue to pay taxes to this current government when it's very clear our monies are NOT used to empower our communities?? @sarstax#TaxRevoltSA
Dear @CyrilRamaphosa
We the CITIZENS of the Republic of South Africa call on you, @DIRCO_ZA and @GovernmentZA to AMEND the constitution and WITHDRAW from the 1951 UN Refugees Convention.
We will not be bullied in our own country.
Regards
@sacr_official1
