Working with The Rock that is Mark Henderson, AND everyone else on "AIDS: The Unheard Tapes," has been a great privilege, extremely sad, inspiring. In memorial: Stewart, our darling hairdresser, & our Fridge boys: Ian, Jimmy, Dominic, David, Marc, as well as Olivier, Fede.
Ten years ago I chatted with Terry’s friends and @THTorguk about making a doc - one year ago joined Wall to Wall project about AIDS - Friday night I finished in online. Tomorrow night this series goes out. Huge thanks to everyone involved. AIDS: The Unheard Tapes BBC2 27.6.22
@SineadEOShea Dear Sinead, Last year I saved bits of Edna archive if I came across them, dreaming one day perhaps i could research archive for a film with/ about her. Will you need an archive producer? I'd die to work on an Edna film. I brief-met her at an event for Girl. Best Wishes, Jo
@johnpilger I'm so very sorry to hear this & send my deep sympathy to all his family & friends. I worked for John, 2017-18 on "The Dirty War on the NHS," he was an incredible person & one important quote from him to me at that time was"from the bottom up, Jo, from the bottom up."
@tobylitt@mironlinebbk Hey @tobylitt , Hugely kind of you to share this story & only just realised you'd put 'The Moon,' (title was shortened from 'Mad Moon' to just 'Moon,' due to your excellent advice ages ago, hence just 'Moon.') I read it to my brother on Saturday, btw, & he liked it a lot. :-)
@mariellaf1@TimesRadio We Shall Overcome (Joan Baez) War (Edwin Starr and later Frankie Goes To Hollywood) ... Nina Simone, quite a few songs by Nina Simone!
@mariellaf1@TimesRadio Give Peace A Chance ( Lennon). The Revolution Will not be Televised ( Gil Scott-Heron). Fight The Power (Public Enemy), Free Nelson Mandela (Jerry Damners/ Special AKA) Get Up Stand Up (Bob Marley) Paper Planes (M.I.A) Biko (Peter Gabriel) Strange Fruit (Billie Holiday)
I have seen this story by @Jochatterbird now and then, over the years, always deepening, and always its very distinctive and lovely self.
'The Moon'
I'm very glad to see it finally published in @mironlinebbk.

Merci, Jo Stones
@vintagebooks The Colour was extra vivid, captured the desperate, male hunger in its search of the new world fortunes, back to the gold rush in NZ, and the effect on women, written many years before another very good novel (the luminaries) approached that same theme, time and place.
