@Chemistry_QMUL on synthesising helicenes and/or measuring room-temperature spin transport! #CISS#CSC#PhDposition (1/n)
It was great for a while but I should have left this cesspit of hatespeech and misinformation a long time ago. I'll be over at bluesky https://t.co/bt1TR1FwFN
The project starts in September 2025 and covers tuition fees and a studentship for living expenses. Please contact me as soon as possible if you're interested. I'm looking forward to hearing from you! (4/4)

Why is this area interesting? A better understanding of CISS might allow us to 1) make faster/more efficient computers through room temperature spintronics or quantum tech 2) split water for hydrogen production more efficiently 3) better understand e-transport in proteins (3/4)

Are you interested in a postdoc in chiral materials research @Chemistry_QMUL in London? I'm happy to support applications to the Royal Society's Newton Scheme; please contact me ASAP if you're interested! #ChemPostDoc https://t.co/IX9NNNdOnI
@LEMacKz Anything more than that would get you blocked unless you have an exceptional reason to ask for more. And as this "secret" cap is not official and documented nowhere, you'd have to have somebody tell you about it. At least that's what's going on in EPSRC's "uncapped" fellowships.
@LEMacKz Wow, £300k and even £500k is not very much for your first fellowship, so I can see the improvement in getting an uncapped fellowship. Thanks for the explanation! I think my worry is that a "secret" cap will develop, where you can ask for, say, 2-3 years of postdoc & 1 equipment

@Keir_Starmer@RachelReevesMP 2023 was the hottest year on record but will be one of the coldest of our remaining lives. Your timidity will doom us all.
