The CPS are yet to announce the name and charges against the boat pilot responsible for bringing illegal migrants to Britain on this boat.

They’re also yet to announce the name and charges against the people who owned or supplied the boat.

The one person we have seen named and charged is the man accused of trying to stop human trafficking by slashing a boat before it was returned to France to reuse.

How have we reached a point where the person damaging the boat appears to be facing consequences, while those responsible for human trafficking across the Channel have not been publicly named or charged?

These are very good reasons for single-sex changing rooms. We know the majority of sex offenders are male, and the majority of victims are female. Our reports into sex offending in leisure centre changing rooms revealed that 86-88% of sexual assaults that occur in changing rooms are in mixed-sex facilities.

How many more reports do we have to write before politicians, local councils, leisure providers, architects, retailers, say: ‘Maybe we should protect the safety of women and children.’

But I submitted evidence. And if they deleted all the records my Subject Access Request should get a negative reply.

So much about this case beggars belief, but as Sir Mark Rowley says: "The children should be put first, not the paedophile.

“The pressure to reduce the remand population has contributed to more dangerous and prolific offenders being granted bail routinely despite strong submissions from the police and CPS".

It is completely unacceptable that women and children are repeatedly being put at risk from dangerous men. Only a matter of days ago, the victims minister @AlexDaviesJones admitted women were being put at risk by the early release scheme.

It saddens me that the murder of Anne Widdecombe has already been forgotten — wormholed by a murky Government.

A former MP murdered in her own home. A murder investigation transferred to counter-terrorism police after “new information and evidence”. A suspect charged with terrorism offences.

Compare that with Jo Cox — whose murder was rightly covered extensively, including throughout the investigation, trial and conviction, and beyond.

Why does Anne Widdecombe — not her case — seem to have disappeared from the national conversation?
