Obviously not the result anyone wanted. Weirdly enough this is only the 3rd multi goal loss for the pens since Christmas. They’ve been battling all year so there’s room for optimism.
Obviously would’ve been very sweet to steal the extra point and the SO struggles are extra frustrating, but if you would’ve told me we would be 1-0-2 without Sid and Geno I’d gladly take that.
While I get the debate about the trade deadline, I don’t believe we need to overthink it. There was no one player we could have traded for that would have wildly changed the outcome of the last few games.
Obviously have no reason to doubt him given the year he’s had, but if Dubas does move Skinner he might as well move Mantha. Either move UFAs at the expense of the playoff run or just let it ride. Don’t want any half measures.
I understand Dubas doesn’t HAVE to do the Geno extension immediately, but if the reports are true that he’s good for a 1 year deal, what’s the hold up? Cap space isn’t an issue, Geno willing to play wing (so won’t block Kindel), and could be a nice confidence boost with Sid out.
@TheOllefan@ChrisMuellerPGH He’s not the reason they lost but idk how you watch this game and think it’s a good idea to bring him back another year older
I don’t like throwing one guy under the bus, but the fact that we have to throw our lines in a blender one game after Hayes is back in the lineup is telling.
Agreed that trade is an overpay although I am not upset about it as long as they give Chinakhov a lot of runway. Can’t be yanking him from the lineup in a few games if he doesn’t start well.
