@DAParkerSciProg@ABridgen I know of several in the 16-20 yr old range in my circle and I don’t have a very big circle. 33x is probably an understatement.
@Bratt_world I remember 2-3 years back where the strategy was to start a controlled burn in 90kmh winds near a bunch of homes to combat the existing fire, but surprise surprise it got out of control and many homes burned down.
@themarketsniper@BlackRock “Fink says dispatchable power is essential because data centres 'can’t turn off and on'.” (From the article)
Actually, modern computers are CMOS based, and power consumption scales linearly with clock speed. Data centres are ideally suited for non-constant power supplies.
@NakedHedgie There are many similarities between the cultivation of Hitler and of Zelensky. And even after Germany ‘went rogue’, Churchill went to great lengths trying to get the Luftwaffe to air-strike London. Cultivation of Ukraine, Serbia, etc. is a direct threat to all of Europe.
@ChristRescues@randyhillier@Concern70732755 Fair enough. But in Canada, MAiD is now the 4th leading cause of death (5.1% as of last year). Many provinces freely distribute street drugs causing many deaths by overdose. And nearly every economic decision they make has devastating consequences. It is no longer hyperbole.
@ChristRescues@randyhillier@Concern70732755 Yes, we should try to use language that avoids making people feel uncomfortable by naming truths. ‘Sleeping rough’ instead of ‘homeless’, for example, so that others not in the know will never catch on to what’s really happening.
@PrairieVeteran Ummmm… driving trucks like that needs a certain aptitude and things like special functioning skills. Not everyone can do it. Those that cannot should never have a license.
@VGircys They did go ahead with quarantine hotels in Canada with frightening results. And the more explicit quarantine camps built in Australia were used to contain political enemies of the government… people that asked unwelcome questions.
