Last week, Democrats LAUGHED when we talked about Granite Staters being taxed out of their homes due to the reckless spending driving up property taxes. Their only solution is MORE TAXES
Democrats raise property taxes
Then democrats oppose efforts to put limits on those increases
Then they laugh about people being taxed out of their homes.
Winning strategy
You can't get more local than local voters making a decision for themselves.
The Taxpayer Protection Act does just that. It will give every NH voter the right to cap their property in the next two November Elections.
It's time to give property tax relief to Granite Staters.
I get a lot of flack for these zoning bills, but I'll tell you: I have a lot of friends who are constantly worried every year when the rent goes up, who can't afford to buy a house, who can't find employment anywhere where housing is affordable, and are worried about losing everything.
I lucked out. I got a house in 2019. The door slammed shut behind me.
Young people who are fighting housing have trouble raising families. They can't build wealth. They have promotions that don't match inflation every year, and rent goes up beyond inflation every year. They can't afford a down payment on a home because they're too busy trying to earn enough for rent.
I also believe in basic supply an demand. Goverment historically restricts supply, and this leads to scenarios where people with land and property have a perverse incentive to prevent anything that would reduce the value of their "Investment".
The game is rigged so property values only go up and up and up while wages go down.
Compared to that issue, compared to this dystopian society that we've built that sacrifices the prosperity of the young for the benefit of the old, I have no qualms over-riding "Local Control" and placing limits on what local government can do.
"Local Control" means "Government Control". Plain and simple. The notion that somehow local government is "small government" when they are the ones spanding most hte money and they're the ones that interfere with liberty the most is absurd.
Liberty does not mean "kick it down to a lower authority". Liberty means "Stop messing with people and their private lives." I will vote for HB1588.
I may lose, but I'm happy with the vote.

Yes, gays have every right to be proud to stand free and equal from persecution. Many fought hard for equal protections so that I can one day become the first openly gay Republican member of Congress.
But what these celebrations have morphed into is nothing more than a display of promiscuous and lewd acts throughout “pride parades” nationwide.
Stonewall in NYC was a riot/ cry for freedom and end of persecution, not a fight for promiscuity.
These civil rights accomplishments have suffered a distortion of bastardized proportions and I refuse to be part of it.
Thank you America for giving me my freedoms and rights as a gay man and thank you Americans for supporting me. I’m sorry some people in “my community”don’t see it the same way.
Brace yourselves as June is amongst us.
“I guess we are not allowed to build housing near trees anymore!” — ironically noted NH Rep. Joe @JoeAlexanderNH Alexander during the committee of conference on NH SB564 (2026).
The bill drew opposition from anti-housing NIMBYs who argued that the risk of trees falling and blocking roads should be a legitimate reason to deny new housing projects.
It’s a shame that New Hampshire continues to push its youth out of the state with overly onerous housing restrictions and unaffordable prices.
