@LawReading Whilst the term will no doubt pre-date that speech, this is when I recall its use became widespread. The Braverman speech caused a moral panic in the MSM as a mainstream politician was mentioning Cultural Marxism.

@LawReading This term appears to originate shortly after Suella Braverman gave a speech about 'Cultural Marxism in circa 2015. This of course is an intellectual movement with clear aims and where the founders can be identified as opposed to the nebulous 'woke'.

@LawReading There could still be some form of austere contingency in place for those who squander the non-means tested payment.

@LawReading We may soon reach the point, if we have not already, where it would be cheaper to replace the welfare state as we know it, for a non-means tested payment to every adult. Fraudulent claims would then not be an issue (not necessarily advocating this).

@MCRReiners The requirements for appointment to the judiciary or a KC include the promotion of diversity. There are several examples of judges stating in their sentencing remarks that 'we' are lucky to live in a diverse society.

@MCRReiners The Court of Appeal preferred the evidence of Mr Muir, but it seems surprising that she would admit to an intention to incite violence when she used the words 'for all I care' . This would also be confusing when the offence is inciting hatred.

@MCRReiners There is nothing I disagree with in this post, but the acquittal was ultimately a decision by a jury. Does this not indicate the need to reverse the Roy Jenkins reforms on juror qualifications? Didn't Magna Carta require jurors to be landowners?
