Hang on. When far-right groups eager for publicity/violence agitate near women's rallies, that makes all the women sticking up for their rights fascists. However, when Nazis join a protest YOU agree with, they're opportunists who mustn't be allowed to besmirch a righteous cause.
This is a very important document for everyone in the country, it’s not a story about different communities or people, it represents all people, one rule under the law. It’s not a playbook to tamper with, this is our own constitution with common law and bill of rights. #VoteNo
Modern Australia is deciding if it wants to project two conflicting aspirations for the people that call it home.
One version is that it offers boundless opportunities to one and all without discrimination.
The other version is that it can only offer these boundless opportunities for some of the people if it treats them differently.
Which group this benefits or disadvantages is not at first clear.
Perhaps the reason we find ourselves at this juncture is because we are already treating people differently?
How does a country end up on a trajectory where an immigrant or refugee can come with almost nothing and make the most of Australia, but at the same time those that are already here are told very publicly that they don't have this within them without a special "voice"?
I’ve been sharing my thoughts on “The Voice” to Parliament over the last few days and have come across a range of interesting points of view and sometimes heated debate. Even though the vote is still many months away, it is becoming a divisive and contentious issue for Australians.
I’m firmly of the belief that despite the uncomfortable nature of criticism it’s important to do our best to be true to what we believe in. I’m not saying my views should shape anyone else’s point of view, as I only speak for myself but I’m not afraid to share them with the wider community.
One clear observation I’ve been able to make from those advocating on behalf of the “YES” position on my posts is their complete lack of self-awareness when making comments tinged with racism to make their point.
Everyday we are told that we are all Australian, but now some us are being reminded by certain people that actually we are not Australian enough to give input or question the future direction of the country we also call home.
For Australians of diverse heritage I’d say do not be offended by this ignorance and do not cower in the face of it if you want to express your opinion.
These same people will sometimes appeal to your place in this country when it is useful, and praise the triumph of a multicultural Australia, but in the coming months they may also discard your opinion as it does not align with their stated interests.
This is not the Australia we should strive for.
Remember fear can sometimes compel us to submit to things we know are fundamentally wrong, the consequences of which we’ve seen time and time again.
The irony of a nine month suspension for Moria Deeming attending the Let Woman Speak rally seem lost on many.

Has the New Zealand Government condemned the mob attack on a group of women trying to speak in New Zealand?
Has the NZ Police laid charges yet against the extreme elements that physically intimidated and assaulted women gathering at a peaceful rally?
Has the NZ Media held to account the organisers of counter trans rights protests they platformed for days, that used tactics of fear & intimidation in their undemocratic objective to silence women from speaking in the public square?
Why are they distracting us with Nazis?
Because the last thing they want you to watch is what REALLY happened at the protest.
Forget the sideshow.
Listen to why brave WOMEN rallied in Melbourne yesterday.
