What an entrance for @DeionSanders the new head coach of @GoJSUTigersFB

This was before warmups as No19 Texas went to defeat No7 Ole Miss tonight. Sark and Arch prevailing. Do they win out after this game or does Ole Miss?

[Joe Cook @JoeCookSports]

My thoughts and reaction to the No7 Rebels 34-27 loss to No19 Texas. Another tough loss but a lot of football left.

The Rebels go for a 58 yard field goal but it is blocked. Texas gets the ball at the Ole Miss 41.
6:21 to go Texas up 31-24

[Joe Cook @JoeCookSports]

The Rebels rush defense and lack of tackling is coming up to bite them at an inopportune time. Raleek Brown's 47 yard run put Texas in scoring range. Two chuck runs by Mike Terry put them at the one and Arch Manning finishes the drive with his 2nd TD. 31-24 Texas 8:04 left

Raleek Brown with a huge 47 yard run for Texas and they are in scoring range.

Rebels have to punt after that pick on Manning. A huge break for the Longhorns.

[Joe Cook @JoeCookSports]

Jalyn Crawford likes Arch Manning. He gets his second pick of the day and the Rebels get the ball right back.

What. A. Play. Horatio Fields with a fantastic catch to tie the game. Chambliss throws it up from 27 yards out and we are tied 24-24 early in the 4th. Both teams have scored 21 unanswered points.

End of the 3rd quarter
Ole Miss 17
Texas 24

[Joe Cook @JoeCookSports]

The Rebels possession sputters at the 49 and they'll punt the ball back to Texas

[Joe Cook @JoeCookSports]

The Rebels sack Manning on second down and force a punt and Ole Miss gets the ball at their 46 and they have the momentum. Sanders back in at center as well.

[Joe Cook @JoeCookSports]

Despite losing their starting center and running back Ole Miss takes advantage of roughing the passer and pass interference penalties. Chambliss with a dart to Horatio Fields from 6 yards out and just like we have a game 24-17 Texas 6:46 left in the 3rd Q.

[Joe Cook @JoeCookSports]

Lacy is able to walk off the field but he enters the medical tent

[Joe Cook @JoeCookSports]

Ole Miss center Brycen Sanders limped off the field after they picked up a first down. Something to monitor going forward. Patrick Kutas in at center now....and now Kewan Lacy goes down. Brutal sequence for the Rebels comeback hopes.

[Joe Cook @JoeCookSports]

Rebels force a punt and will get the ball down by 14 with lots of time to go...

[Joe Cook @JoeCookSports]

What a play to start the 2nd half for the Ole Miss defense. Blake Purchase with a strip sack on Manning and after few bounces Kam Franklin recovers it in the endzone. The Rebels first TD is a scoop and score. 24-10 Texas with 13:19 left in the 3rd Q.

[Joe Cook @JoeCookSports]

Longhorn set to receive to start the 2nd half.

[Joe Cook @JoeCookSports]

First half at Texas for Trinidad Chambliss
6-18, 63 yards, 2 interceptions

Halftime
Ole Miss 3
Texas 24

[Joe Cook @JoeCookSports]

Welp that might do it and it's not even halftime. With 1:41 left in the first Texas' Rasheem Biles picks off Chambliss on 4th&Goal at the 2. Texas takes over up 24-3 with 1:37 left.
