Though he's not a superintendent, or even in the business, for that matter, Jake Trego (@YOTB1987) reached out and asked if he could still join the SN community as a supporter of superintendents and the work you do.

Years ago, Jake found various online golf communities and was immediately hooked. Golf has been a release for Jake, giving him something to focus on while fighting the toughest battle(s) of his life. Anyone that meets Jake (aka, Goose) walks away feeling better because of his jovial nature, positive attitude, and incredible spirit, despite what he's dealing with personally.

What we love to do most at SN is shine a lot on the people and causes within our community and help garner support for others when they need it most. This is one of those moments.

For more than three years, Jake has been grappling with various forms of cancer. He's beaten it and been in remission, only to have it reappear in his life, and demanding that he muster up the strength for yet another fight. The disease has once again resurfaced, even while in the midst of chemotherapy treatments, new spots have appeared which seem to be growing. Clearly, this has taken a mental and physical toll on Jake and his wife, Roz. Additionally, regular doctor visits, chemotherapy, and surgery have caused a financial burden on the young couple as well.

As a Columbus, Ohio resident, we've been fortunate to get to know Jake very well. He's a genuine individual that cares for and thinks of others first, even in the midst of his own struggles.

We'd encourage you to follow along on social media through one of his many accounts. In addition to his regular updates, you'll also get to introduced to another one of his true passions, music. Jake is lead singer of "Year of the Buffalo," a folk band that according to their website, has sold DOZENS of albums (a true testament to his sense of humor)!
