@CarDav1 @KOhonestly@67Dodge They are focusing on the fastest selling and largest profit margin products. This is the same in Canada as well; pickups, SUVs, and vans accounted for 86.6% of total new vehicle sales.
@KOhonestly @CarDav1 @67Dodge But this doesn't help production in Canada. As to the foreign cars being built here, a big part of them building here was to sell them in the US market. The Canadian market just isn't a big enough market to justify the costs. If everyone bought the same make and model, maybe.
@DANLAB1512@brianlilley Agreed, but until we actually have a free dairy system within Canada how can we expect to do trade outside the country with regards to dairy.
@CarDav1 @67Dodge Not saying it is impossible but I believe it is improbable. Operating a facility that is highly automated might work, but could be costly for the initial setup. If the idea is for EU export then the best place would be the east coast with access to the Halifax port.
@Sheila_Copps Wouldn't it be better to have the best candidates in the position regardless of sex, race, or religion? I know if I was going for an operation the first thing on my list would be to have the best surgeon, not their sex, race, or religion.
@Mikeggibbs Canada is not a large market so unless we can trade with others it is hard to justify producing here as opposed to elsewhere. The closest place for us to trade is the US so it is a natural trading partner which is why so much of our trade is dependent on the US now.
@CarDav1 @67Dodge Unless Canada can export to the US market, I don't believe Korea or China will open a facility for just the Canadian market. I agree those other countries have production in Canada but what was said is the cars would be sent from other countries not they would be built in Canada
@NickKristof This is what happens when people are lied to about health matters. I was told that unless I got "the vaccine" I was going to die during the winter of death a couple years ago. Well, not only did I not die, I didn't even get sick which some of my friends who took it did.
@acoyne At what point in time do lines drawn on a map become absolute? 50 years, 100 years, 1000 years? You want everyone to believe that Alberta is 100% owned by Canada after just being part of the country for 121 years?
@Concern70732755 There were a couple items that were made in Canada that I use to buy. Since this whole thing started their prices have increased and I switched to other brands. I didn't even look to see where they were made.
@jamiljivani When I was in Scotland, every museum I visited was free for everyone. There was a collection box if you wanted to give but it wasn't required.
@MrJoKeR604 Out of those 15 years Trudeau was there for 10 so the bar was very low. Also, that election, Carney never got a majority so many people don't believe he is the right person for the job.
