“We Bury the Dead” has two strengths. The first is Daisy Ridley’s emotional performance. The second being that zombies were not in the original draft. The living take precedent in the character-driven thriller.

Joel Edgerton gives the worst pep talk in the history of cinema, while the young ensemble cast delivers unforgettable performances that will send shivers down your spine. Amazing film. 4 stars.

Like hitting a ball back and forth in rapid succession, “ping-pong” can also describe the rapid exchange of ideas delivered at a frantic pace in Josh Safdie’s gritty drama. There’s a bit of Tarkovsky and Scorsese here, but this is pure Safdie terrain.

This is a star-studded cast, but it’s disappointing how quickly the laughs fade. The meta-comedy has its moments, but the 1997 original is funnier.

The #Oscars are leaving ABC and moving to YouTube beginning 2029.

"The Oscars, including red carpet coverage, behind-the-scenes content, Governors Ball access, and more, will be available live and for free to over 2 billion viewers around the world on YouTube, and to YouTube TV subscribers in the United States."
