An article in @nytimes about NYC suburbs that doesn't mention #Westchester County (one of 2 NY counties that border NYC) and claims Rockland is just north of the City (Westchester is). It does mention GOP-controlled Suffolk though. https://t.co/BXhshLuuXI
This sounds quite and eerily familiar as I'm reading on Keynes and FDR in the early days of FDR's presidency with @zachdcarter's "The Price of Peace."

@mooseturds@wikivictorian "North and South" for the contrast between the rural south and the rapidly industrializing north (Manchester), and very well done by the BBC:

@nypl Start with @FamilySearch. Free. I've found much about my Irish roots there. @findmypast has good stuff, incl. Catholic parish records in NY and Ireland (baptisms and weddings). @EllisIsland has immigration records.
@lindsaycrouse@Elise_Thornton The 1900 and 1910 Censuses had these questions for woman. How many children have you given birth to and how many are alive? I think the UK had one for whether a child was legitimate.
@News12WC I understand NYS is creating a waiting list of people who are otherwise not eligible who can get a shot *that would otherwise be thrown away.*
@MarkLevineNYC@IndivisWstchr I found it easy to book through @Walgreens. In ten minutes I had both doses scheduled for me and my wife in the Bronx. Booked on 3/10. Shot 1 on 3/11. Shot 2 on 4/8. (I'm in Mount Vernon.)
@JamesSurowiecki There was a thread in #WritingCommunity a few months back in which authors disclosed their advances. It was in part to expose discrepancies with BIPOC authors. I don't recall the Twitter hashtag.
@stinarichard@sarahcbydesign@joshtpm Plenty? I don't know that many people, but I know many who have second homes. There are several in my immediate family. That the population in the Hamptons and elsewhere swells in the summer months is evidence of the importance of New Yorkers to their economies.
