Once again @antonioguterres@UN says it how it is . . .
"Families running for their lives before the next hurricane strikes. Biodiversity destroyed in sweltering seas. Workers and pilgrims collapsing in insufferable heat. Floods tearing through communities, and tearing down infrastructure. Children going to bed hungry as droughts ravage crops. All these disasters, and more, are being supercharged by human-made climate change."
Hospital league tables are a disastrous idea.
You do not improve standards by shaming hard-working NHS staff, damaging morale and adding unnecessary stress.
We should support - not scapegoat - our medics. That means giving them the resources they need to provide care for all.
In recent years, the people of Georgia have flooded the streets, standing up against police brutality and the brutal crackdown on peaceful protests. They are determined to pursue a democratic future, yet their government is blocking that path. Instead of moving towards democracy, the government is adopting Russian-style laws that curtail freedom.
On October 26, Georgia held its parliamentary elections. The ruling party claims victory, but the civil society of Georgia, including election observers, has clearly stated that the results do not reflect the true will of the people. Widespread violations were reported, both before and during election day.
I stand with the people of Georgia in their call for a full investigation and for new, truly free and fair elections.
The world must pay attention. The people of Georgia deserve to have their voices heard. They deserve the chance to choose their future. This is not just their fight; it is the fight of every person who believes in freedom, equality, and justice. And we must stand with them.
"It's amazing how a slogan From the River to the Sea is more offensive to some people than the actual bombing of an open air prison with a million children in it"
One of the biggest lies we're told is that green measures are bad for the poor.
The people who tell this lie invariably have no detectable prior concern for people in poverty. But they're deeply concerned about the profits of those poor fossil fuel firms.

1. On Wednesday, the Government plans to stop juries acquitting the wonderful people taking necessary measures to protect life and to protect us all.
Please join us outside the *Royal Courts of Justice at 9am, 21 Feb* to stand up for trial by jury and democracy 🧵
When the UK left the European Union, musicians lost the ability to tour without restriction in Europe. Travelling with backline, performing & selling merchandise became massively more complicated and expensive. Can you sign this petition & RT if poss? https://t.co/cStnxABT0u
Israel bombed UNRWA refugee camps..
Israel bombed UNRWA schools..
Israel blocked UNRWA food aid..
Israel bombed UNRWA warehouses..
Israel killed over 10,000 children registered with UNRWA..
Now Israel says UNRWA is the terrorists, and they are the victims…🇮🇱🇵🇸🇺🇳
Regardless of the eventual ICJ ruling, senior Israeli politicians and officials have repeatedly made statements of genocidal intent. Yet the UK, US and other governments have consistently failed to condemn these statements.

Yesterday, the ICJ found a plausible risk of genocide in Gaza.
Today, the UK has joined others in suspending funding to UNRWA.
This is collective punishment — our government should be ashamed of its moral depravity toward Palestinians starving to death.
“Do we feel the pain or do we just die at once?” Al Jazeera correspondent @YoumnaElSayed17 tells @Dena how she’s having to speak to her children about death as Israel’s bombardment of Gaza continues.
