❄️Today’s the day!❄️
Come learn how we can use AI to detect Antarctic iceberg rafting events over 3 million years! **time changed to 5:40pm**
@JRSO_IODP@LamontEarth#AGU22
Hey y'all. Some #paleoCAMP alums @ #AGU22 are going to have some brews at Low Rez Brewing and Taproom (Carpenter St.). If you ECRs in PP are feeling social, stop by!
Looking for a PhD position!
This oct I am defending my MS: southern ocean micropaleo, paleoSST, ocean-ice sheet interaction.
I hope to broaden my skillset and step into polar sed/strat!
Strong foundation in SO dynamics
Please share/DM if you have any leads, career advice etc!
New paper alert: My 1st first-authored paper with incredible coauthors (@ChemClimatology, @PearsonGroupEPS, Brian P. Hedlund, @ShuangZhang20) is now in @PNASNews! https://t.co/KhB6RutQsg
We show that #GDGTs are much more than a #TEX86 temperature proxy! Curious? Here we go!

@KBMANBA Pretty new! Would be happy to chat further if you’d like. It was first proposed by Dr Michael Kloster’s group (AWI at the time, now U Duisburg-Essen). We are currently exploring its uses and limits.
If anyone stumbles upon my fledgling geology Twitter and wants to discuss marine micro-paleontology and Antarctic paleo climate, let me know! I presented at #AGU2021 evaluating ocean temperatures 125,000 years ago!

Interested in Antarctica? Want to know about sea-ice around it in the past? Then you might be interested in proxy records using diatoms! My supervisor and I are here to save the day with a new paper (my first one!!) reviewing records for the 2k :

@KBMANBA SST is derived via morphometrics of F. kerguelensis, ratios of which low/high rectangularity morphotypes have been compared to overlying SST. Using this relationship, we derive past SST from MIS-5 sediments!
So lucky to be a part of the inaugural #paleoCAMP22! Thanks to all the amazing instructors who made this 2 week course incredible. I have so much more exciting climate research to learn about now.
@jennyhorrocks Yes he has! I have browsed your work a bit (I actually have read your dissertation about 12 times), it’s great stuff! I’m grateful to have such strong work to build my project off off.
