In which I compare the greatest* living artist, Werner Herzog, to the world's worst man, Donald Trump. In part a long-form review of Herzog's novel "The Twilight World," up today on @fullstopmag

For the first time yesterday, I experienced the new @alamodrafthouse QR code ordering system and I can tell you it’s truly awful. Rather than making ordering food and drink more efficient, it actually adds steps to the process AND if you want to order additional items during the film you HAVE to open your phone. No, your cute reference to that irony in your How To Alamo video doesn’t negate how ridiculous this is. Please don’t cut corners with your staff and revert back to physical menus and order cards.
There should be a comedy tour / reality show called Comedians’ Hilarious Family Members in which we finally get to experience their hilarious behavior firsthand
(I dislike poodles to the extent that I killed one off in my most recent novel Hack House in gruesome fashion.) Best of all, the owner had to walk right up to my window to pick it up as I continued to rage at the keys. I didn’t even look at her. It was cathartic
Just now, I was playing the most noisy, fast, atonal-ish, HARD piece in my piano repertoire (Messiaen “20 Visions of the Infant Jesus,” Noël), and a black poodle pulled up right outside my window (right by piano) and took a dump in my yard (1/2)
A review of my novel Hack House on Salt Hill last week so well written that even the moments of critique made me smile. Big thanks to Grace Morris—

@NHLBlackhawks Sabres fan who grew up in Rockford, going to this matchup every year including at the old Madhouse. Chicago is my #2 and the dynasty was such an important part of recent memory. The future is bright in my favorite city in the world
Happy 17776 immortality day! From now on we are creatures of play, resting in an eternal moment.
If you haven’t read @jon_bois’s internet novel, today’s the very best day to start it:
