Shmoe’s Notes (3/3)
Often, overreactions can hurt you in the long run. In the case of Florida in the past, I still feel they would have been much better off just keeping the Lemon Lime pick. Now, they continue to seek a superstar despite letting one slip away.
Shmoe’s Notes: (1/3)
I really like this deal for both sides. On one hand, Topsfield ups their ceiling. Svetr is a much tougher player physically, and on-par offensively as Dah Player, but lacks the elite speed. Hopefully, Topsfield is finally the system that first his playstyle.
Shmoe’s Notes (2/3)
For Florida, it’s a get-right move in a tough Walker Conference. They gamble some depth for a speedy offensive powerhouse to put next to Goodman and jumpstart the scoring.
My one worry is Florida’s obsession with making moves just for the sake of change.

The amount of shit I got for a quote that I didn't even say, just for the actual organization itself to say this kind of stuff is just incredible. I expect full hand-written apologies in my DMs by tomorrow morning. Oh and Travis Topshelf is still a little bitch.
REPORT: Anonymous insider sources from Greenville tell me that despite his success in yesterday’s game, the organization is discontent with Wewan D’Coop and actually fucking hate him so suck on that commish
The rumors that Sault Ste. Marie is secretly bioengineering a mutant freak to play hockey for them one day are completely unfounded and entirely untrue.
Aaron Potter has my pick for the Cremation Award. This Santas team is severely underrated, and I think they will prove a lot of people wrong. I still think Travis Topshelf is a bum though. If they can replace him at the deadline, they might just be contenders.
REPORT: Florida Cougars team owner Jelly is moving to pursue a lawsuit against St. James Islanders owner Matt for failure to make payments dating back to Jelly's time as AGM of the Islanders.
The league is still actively investigating the situation and how it will effect the future of the league, but as of right now, no further punishment in this specific case is being considered beyond the denial of the second movement.
This could perhaps change in future situations
Starr’s movement between the Persians and Towers was coordinated from the start, and thus the second deal will be denied, unlike the Leprechaun Sam trades.
The league is actively working on fixing language in the rule book to define collusion and prevent future situations.

This differs from the Leprechaun Sam situation a month ago, where the league ruled that no collusion was involved, but offered a stern warning in future borderline deals.
Sam’s back and forth movement was not planned prior, and was a happening of the moment.

Following the Starr for Ballbag trade, the two teams are now trying to reverse the deal, claiming Ringo was simply “going on vacation” (direct quote).
This is simple collusion. It appears the league will tell them to “suck it up,” and Starr will be a Tower, at least for now.
