All who live or ever have lived who come unto Christ and live His gospel will feel joy beyond any earthly expression as we reunite, resurrected, with our Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ and with our parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, and ancestors.
I grew up in a high control evangelical Baptist cult. The LDS church allowed me to break free and encourages you to study other religions and take the best knowledge from all religion and apply it to your life… all while you keep Christ as your foundation and trust in him as your savior. But, after college I had a faith crisis. I believed science trumped religion. I began trusting the science during Covid. I was a masker and vaxxer. Boy was I wrong and it caused me to question my “faith” in scientism and it led me back to the arms of Christ and back to His church. Yes, I filled out a legal document to remove my name from the church and still have it. I’m thankful for the atonement of Christ and his salvation, I rely solely on that. I did nothing of my own volition to bring my back to Christ, I simply trust him and follow where he led me… which is to His church.., The Church of Jesus Christ. My name in the “book of life” isn’t dependent on my name on a church roll, but on Jesus Christ.
I’m really fired up for this new chapter. @tlacomb has been a great friend for a long time and he is absolutely going to kill it.
The show will continue to have the same vibe it’s always had: just a couple of dudes that don’t take themselves too seriously that just want to talk some sports and have a few laughs along the way. Let’s do this.
Last week we arrived five minutes late to my 11-year-old son’s Under Armour game. It was a #ParentFail to the max in my opinion. I was a little shook about showing up late if I am being honest.
He didn’t let it phase him at all. He hustled straight to the bench, locked in to support his teammates. When the coaches called his name about a minute later, he stepped onto the court completely present. Hit a 3 pointer with a couple of gritty layups in about 2 minutes. But this wasn't about the outcomes...it was about his presence.
In that moment something shifted in me.
I wasn’t thinking about the score, the next play, or anything outside the gym. I was simply there, in the moment, fully present— watching my son be exactly who he is: smart, kind, driven, a great teammate, and fully alive in the moment.
A wave of gratitude and pure joy washed over me. It felt spiritual, like the Good Lord handed me a brief, perfect window into something bigger than the game.
As someone who coaches athletes and leaders on mental performance and presence, I spend my days teaching others how to access that state.
My son taught the lesson to me in less than 2 minutes.
He didn’t have to do anything special. He just showed up completely. And because he did, I could too.
If you’re a parent, maybe this lands for you the way it did for me: the deepest moments with our kids aren’t planned. They arrive when we let ourselves meet them in the present.
I’m carrying that feeling with me this week.
What’s one moment lately where your child’s presence pulled you fully into the now? I’d love to hear it below.

After going viral for talking about how the @BYU basketball team doesn't practice on Sundays, @byuwbb star @DelaneyGibb shares what it means to honor her faith in God this morning on @foxandfriends w/ @CarlyShimkus.
“It’s super cool being able to play for a university like BYU because I am able to represent something greater than myself - my Savior Jesus Christ - and being able to take Sundays off and use it as a day of worship and a day to re-center and re-focus my life on Christ is super special.”
