@nickgoff79 Big love to Micky P, wherever he is these days, and Kenny Miller for providing an unexpected but excellent afternoon!
...Apologies to Carole, the landlady.
@nickgoff79 Bloke that ran my then local, The Three Tuns in Gosport, Hampshire was a massive Wolves fan. Pissed up early doors, said he'd put a keg on for free if they won.
Man kept his word, and 20yr old me and a load of mates had a blinding day.
His Mrs (and landlady) came and went mad
The trouble is, while we were drinking, fingering and getting up to mischief in the Nineties, the sneaks, tell-tales, bedwetters, swots and weirdos of our generation were making plans.
They now run the country.
They are unable to do it....The incumbents still cannot see that it is with them, 'Big Ideological Government' that has snuffed out productive growth in the economy with the terrible policy choices (tax rises) they implemented based purely on their ideals. 22months without productive growth and the voters are telling them rightly so...Our productivity measure is less than what it was in the 1800's!
Starmer himself showed a complete lack of awareness, giving a speech in which he vowed to double down on his hated policies. Listening to politicians on the mainstream channels, they are literally delusional. They have no idea of the damage they are doing or the publicโs opinion of them. Their Policies (Net Zero & Tax Hikes) have demolished the working class.
It is hard to imagine what we could be achieving as a society if our incomes were 2-4x higher and we were free to invest our surplus money unhindered by the state sector (taxes now the highest in the developed world alongside the highest electricity & energy costs), yet the drop in living standards is frightening.
It is the great sin of this 'Big Ideological Government' that we are still in the gutter, looking at the stars, rather than building a ladder towards them, and the incumbent political class still think it is the voters fault for not letting the "policies work effectively"....
Smaller sized government, lower energy costs, less regulations! This will boost people's productivity.
@danbarker She is evidently, still not okay.
Thoughts and prayers.
I do agree that gambling ads are too prominent, even as a keen enjoyer of gambling myself.
