Final stop was St. Paul’s Episcopal on West Market Street. Moderately crowded lot, buzzing with people zipping in and out. If you haven’t voted yet, still plenty of time before polls close at 7:30.
Heavier activity that I saw included a line starting to trickle out the front door at First Baptist Church on Shatto Avenue, but social distancing may have necessitated this. @beaconjournal
In-person voter activity at Innes CLC, Buchtel CLC and Maple Valley Branch Library was not as brisk as I would expect for a typical presidential election year, but 2020 has been anything but typical. Absentee ballots are bound to tell the real story of turnout in these precincts.
Spent 50 minutes driving around to check out the scene at 10 Akron-area polling locations starting at 7:55 a.m. Overall, I saw steady activity. As expected, it was less busy given the number of folks who’ve voted absentee because of COVID-19. @beaconjournal
