🎉 The thesis is done – It is all about Sense of Place (SoP) and Social-Ecological Systems (SES) 🌿🌍 If you want a copy flick me a message. But if you don’t have time to read 50k words, the important bits are below. 📖👇

✨ How do we then use SoP in SES management?
1. Collaborate
2. Understand your positionality
3. Understand the phenomenon
4. Consider the end point of the data
5. Define the place
6. Define the how
7. Focus on the bright spots
8. Leverage the vibe!
It's #WorldMentalHealthDay - so I want to spend some time talking about what I call 'gnostalgia'.
From the Greek ‘gnosis’ (knowledge) and ‘algos’ (pain) - this word captures how it feels to understand the science behind our planetary crises.

Links btw #SenseOfPlace (SoP) & #SocialEcologicalSystems are important in considering safe operating spaces for humanity write Duggan @ChrisCvitanovic @i_vanputten in @PLOSONE. Their survey of researchers found enablers & barriers affect SoP use in policy https://t.co/ZHaJpBQNbf
New paper!
SoP is crucial to the healthy function of social-ecological systems, but it isn't effectively incorporated into decision making processes. This article takes a look at the barriers and enablers from the perspective of the people measuring it.

📣This research supports our earlier calls for the creation of more safe spaces for climate scientists. The next step is to unpack how climate anxiety and the efficacy of interventions may differ across cultural, professional, gender and identity divides.
👐Group therapy not only offers climate scientists an opportunity to reflect on their emotions around climate change, but also creates a space where all emotional drivers from their life and work can be presented and the interplay of these feelings explored.
