This one was a labor of love. Read on for our hot take on collaboration in global learning networks and the conditions that can support it for education leaders. @tristateach @MinKimEducation @HargreavesBC @arceducation1 @JournalEdChange

I truly enjoyed contributing to this edited volume. All the pieces in this collection work to close the gap between research and practice in writing instruction and center the deep professional knowledge of writing teachers. @TCPress @annaconsalvo1

She is a force. Lucky to count myself amongst the Brisk babies.

[Boston College @BostonCollege]

Across a legendary career, @BCLynchSchool Professor Emerita Maria Estela Brisk earned a reputation as a leading expert on language & education and an unapologetic warrior for bilingual learners' rights.

She discusses what she's learned in BC Magazine ➡️ https://t.co/ZDDXiaXnyY

Happy #TeacherAppreciationWeek to my people! And Happy #NursesWeek to the many nurses I know and love.

Just thinking that maybe we could give two essential, highly-skilled, chronically underpaid, overworked, female-dominated professions their own weeks? Maybe?

[Dr. Joelle Pedersen @JoellePedersen]

@ChrisChangBacon Can confirm!

[Dr. Joelle Pedersen @JoellePedersen]

Stoked that my work is featured in this Literacy Insights collection on guiding and assessing student writing through the Journal of Adolescent & Adult Literacy. All the articles here are temporarily free to access, so happy reading!

“It’s manipulative, it’s exhausting, it’s not useful, it’s not thoughtful” is how I feel about all @BostonGlobe education coverage. But this is particularly egregious.

[Tracy O'Connell Novick @TracyNovick]

Ok, look, here's what I'm talking about (today):

This article that purports to be on literacy in "Massachusetts top schools"

@BostonGlobe @GlobeEducation For the record: NPS does not now nor have we ever used Calkins as our core reading program. We teach our students to check their sources. Maybe you should, as well.

Excited to see my paper with @JoellePedersen trending in #Linguistics this week (#5). But Paper #1 on the decreasing shock value of the F-bomb definitely wins the day. 😆

[Dr. Joelle Pedersen @JoellePedersen]

And they say teachers don't want theory. In this long-standing collaboration with @ChrisChangBacon, we share what happened with our pre-service teachers' writing feedback to multilingual learners when we taught them discourse analysis.

[Chris Chang-Bacon @ChrisChangBacon]

What if schools approached language difference with fascination rather than frustration? What if we used discourse analysis as a tool for student writing feedback instead of the dreaded “red pen?” Excited to release this collaboration with Joelle Pedersen! https://t.co/qpCOAtLmTB

[Andy Hargreaves @HargreavesBC]

We've been building the @arceducation1 global movement for humanistic ends since 2016. Here's the 1st assessment of its impact. @JoellePedersen @tristateach @jal_mehta @GGillHHam1 @dizdarm @pasi_sahlberg @ICPConnect @PSullivan28 @Ceibal_Uy @YngveLindvig @MinKimEducation

Not to mention: How does one begin to evaluate education programs without setting foot in a single classroom? Try again, @NCTQ.

[Dr. Joelle Pedersen @JoellePedersen]

Educator folks, I’m #hiring for @newton_ps:
- Middle school literacy specialist
- 6th grade English language arts

You’d be joining a rockstar department with creative, supportive teachers in a district deeply committed to both equity and academic excellence. Please pass on!

[Dr. Joelle Pedersen @JoellePedersen]

@thisischristina Oh I feel this so hard.

[Dr. Joelle Pedersen @JoellePedersen]

@ChrisChangBacon Yes but we also go the article out to a new journal in 48 hours so #thankyounext

[Dr. Joelle Pedersen @JoellePedersen]

Hey #AERA22, the fun isn’t over yet. Tomorrow morning, @tristateach and I talk about what happens when Professional Learning Networks go global. Zoom on in. @ArcEducation @HargreavesBC

[Dr. Joelle Pedersen @JoellePedersen]

@theemilyhodge So many congratulations friend! Incredibly well deserved.

Feed full of maskless kiddos is making my heart hurt a little. So here's a picture of my amazingly resilient preschooler. He is learning to talk and read and be a human in the world from behind a mask, and will continue to do so until he can be vaccinated. And so will we.

[Dr. Joelle Pedersen @JoellePedersen]

@mtpoc Just ugh.
