Inspirations:

He is named after the band REO Speedwagon.

Araki stated that out of all the characters in JoJo's, Speedwagon is actually the one most like himself.

His facial scar and look are inspired by Mike Harper from Araki’s earlier manga “Poker Under Arms”.
