A few takeaways from the #MISEN debate this evening. Republicans would rather run against Abdul because he's an easier candidate to beat. Haley Stevens is Michigan's best shot at keeping the Senate blue.
BREAKING: Rep. Haley Stevens just eviscerated Abdul El-Sayed who is being propped up by Republican SuperPACs because he’ll help Republicans win the seat. If we want to flip the Senate, Haley Stevens is the candidate to do it.
Thus far, the message from Haley Stevens in MI SEN DEM primary: don’t make this race a the future of the Dem party nationally, it’s about the future of MI voters.
I’m glad Abdul is so focused on finances because we still don’t know who’s putting money in *his* pocket. What are you hiding, if you don’t want to release your financial disclosure?
Why doesn’t he want to disclose his personal finance information? Filling for an extension until after the primary? so voters don’t get to know what’s in your pocket? Oh brother…#MISEN
Abdul tends to stretch the truth when it comes to his record.
So in the spirit of transparency, we ran a fact-check on some of his loftiest claims. Take a look for yourself: https://t.co/MfRkFByuKj
[America] is “not better off than we were before him” - El-Sayed on Barack Obama. Let’s put politics aside, Barack Obama’s election broke barriers many Americans never thought they would see broken in their lifetime. That’s 1 reason why America WAS better off with him as Pres..
During a June 20 campaign stop in Saginaw, @AbdulElSayed said Obama’s presidency “wasn’t quite what we had wanted” and argued many Americans remained frustrated by the economic fallout of the Great Recession: https://t.co/vZoKA6Lsba
“As the most effective lawmaker for Michigan…I’m putting Michiganders, our hard work, our work ethic, at the forefront….. No more tax cut for billionaires. I’m putting you and your family first, the Michigan way.” - Haley Stevens
I endorsed and have supported @MalloryMcMorrow — a friend who I admire deeply. But as she exits this Senate race in Michigan, I’m all in for @HaleyforMI. https://t.co/Zs7jayDFip
I suspect this grows. More of Mallory McMorrow's voters will move to Haley Stevens, especially women and in Detroit media market where McMorrow was strongest.
Battleground Democrats are focused on one question: Who can beat Mike Rogers? Increasingly, the answer is Haley.
