@ConceptualJames Population level policy requires population level data. You cannot write policy for 330 million individuals. If consistent group differences exist, pretending they don't because the implications are uncomfortable will never produce fairness.
@ConceptualJames Imagine if researching the cognitive effects of Down Syndrome were considered bigotry because "they're just like everyone else." We'd lack the data we have today and make policy based on ideology instead of reality. Good policy requires uncomfortable facts.
@ConceptualJames@JimeeLiberty Imagine as a society we started pushing that people with down syndrome were "just like the rest of us".... and then people started saying "we don't have enough down syndrome pilots, doctors, lawyers"...and "we should treat them as individuals". This is how civilizations crumble
@BlendingCommies What theological point did he make? God may not be the author of Confusion, but Paul 100% is the author of confusion. The overwhelming majority of tension in the bible, and within Christianity comes from Paul and his contradictions with Jesus.
@JoelHalcomb@TrevorSheatz Actually, he didn't create humans to govern his creation wisely. He created us not knowing the difference between wise and foolish, and if you believe the writers of the bible, he punishes us for his choice to make us that way.
@TrevorSheatz Why? Did we choose to be born? Why do we "deserve" anything at all? Whether it be heaven or hell? God created all the circumstances in which we live. He created Sin, and put us into a position to choose, not knowing what was at stake.
@bossmuntime@wil_da_beast630 What about 30 million with a 75 IQ? And then what if we say that they should all be given special privileges? And that we need more of them in leadership positions? So we make policies that give them special preference and first dibs on roles that impact your life?
@scrowder Thats because 1980's/90's were peak in general. Everything was better. McDonald's, Pizza Hut where you sat and ate and they brought your pizza to you. Blockbuster, real dollar stores, dollar theaters the list goes on.
@draaglom@CanuckObserver@lthlnkso@jk_rowling I think the more valid criteria of a good writer is whether or not people enjoy their writing. Suppose a writer checks all the "boxes" of what a "good" writer is, but no one likes their work. Is it really good writing? "yeah he is a good writer, but I hate his writing"
@avidseries@Noahpinion If we solve male sexual frustration, life as we know it would cease to exist. This is a lesson I learned in 2009 https://t.co/72EiLjFkN7
