We have been working on a special project for a private collection and collaborated with Anders Nilsen to create an installation consisting of individual buttons nailed into a wall. Each small object comes together to create a maximal gesture of movement and gradation.
Last summer we partnered with AllKinds on a large-scale mural project with Hub on Campus, Gainesville, Florida, in collaboration with Studio K and CORE.
We sought out tattoo figurehead Timmy "tatts" Domino from King Cobra Tattoo to draw up a fresh perspective on the school's mascot Nitty Lion. Domino's design is just the right mix of vintage and contemporary transformed into a bold wallpaper for the front desk.
We are proud to have worked with artists Marzena Abrahamik, Caroline Gerberick, Savannah Jubic, Faheem Majeed, Jordan Martins, Nicole Mauser, Cole Pierce, Claire Ashley, Nicole Mauser, Nick Albertson, Cassie Thompson and Hope Wang.
Incorporating artworks in the lobbies, elevator vestibules, and corridors of the buildings transform these common-use spaces into opportunities for creative engagement.
We are grateful for our collaborative partnerships, which now reach across the nation, and the ability to support. Check out the images of some of the work from 2020. Cheers to the new year and big adventures in 2021!
2020 was quite a year and we are so proud to have worked with so many incredible artists in private curatorial projects, public art installation, and
exhibitions.
We spent the past few months assisting Studio K with the production of the artwork installed in the new health and wellness club, BIÂN. Photography artist Dominica Fisher's large-scale black and white photographs capture the body’s movement as it relates to light and time.
The collection also includes a work by Sarah Leuchtner, as well as a salon wall consisting of Holly Murkerson, Soo Shin, Diana Gabriel, @biltereyst, and @JankowiakJames. This collection celebrates a range of mediums, disciplines, and styles.
We placed additional artworks within the Porte at 845 Madison, in collaboration with @GREC_architects, and the artists included are Gina Hunt, @EmmyStarBrown, a commissioned piece by Sam Nigrosh, and 3 textile works by Cassie Thompsen.
Artist Jane Georges combined function and form with her ingredients-based map of the world. Next time you are in Fulton Market, stop by Good Ambler for a sweet treat and check out these large-scale installations.
Johalla Projects partnered with @hparchitecture and @MDLZ on facilitating three artistic commissions found in Mondelēz’s new Fulton Market café and bakery - Good Ambler.
All Kinds Studio paid homage to @MDLZ’s chocolate legacy by creating a mural of Bournville, the home of Cadbury chocolate, out of reclaimed objects found throughout Fulton Market. Muralist Simone Rawski painted a decadent display of towering baked goods and treats.
Johalla Projects collaborated with the non-profit organization @artsoflife and development firm Cedar Street Companies on a large-scale permanent art installation in the newly constructed Bush Temple apartment complex @flats.
With athletics in mind, we commissioned site specific installations with Andrea Jablonski and Stolatis who collaborated to create a lenticular piece for fitness corridor and a skate deck piece for the entrance way.
Johalla Projects is excited to present our first national project in collaboration with @studiokcreative and Core Spaces, Johalla Projects curated art installations throughout student housing buildings across the country.
