Found guilty, Socrates was asked to work out a proper punishment.
He said that he should be provided with free meals for life at the Prytaneum, an honor reserved only for Olympiad victors.
The Jury then voted for the death penalty with a higher margin than for his conviction.
@Erundel If you Thanos snapped the top 2% of society out of existence, every company, country, and system along with civilization as we know it would collapse within weeks
If you did the same thing to the bottom 2%, nothing would change. If anything, average daily life would improve
At McDonald's watching a black toddler repeatedly say "shut up nigga" while his mom desperately tries to make him stop by telling him "shut up, nigga".
Massive L for The Hood to have one of their own get a legal cage fight with a police officer only to tap out from a standing guillotine almost immediately and then the cop does a teabag maneuver like it’s fuckin Halo 😹

A lot of the GOP is so scared of being called mean names by the media that they can only ever turn their guns on the one group that overwhelmingly supports them. It’s just pure cowardice and stupidity all the way down.
@caiohplima@ArceusTweeter@rauuburn Holy shit, your shithole country gives pensioners 250 bucks a month? Lmfao, you’re crying because you’re coping. You are dirt poor and jealous. The average American can barely graduate high school and enjoy a better standard of living than you.
@caiohplima@ArceusTweeter@rauuburn “No meaningful savings” and “little property” brother your entire nation is a fucking favela. I have plenty saved, as does the average American. We also have social security, something that you cannot wrap your third worlder brain around. We pay people to retire, fuckhead
Who exactly are the "We" in "We the People"? How could you possibly have a Constitution at all without an American people to write, ratify, and implement it in the first place?
Accounts like Insurrection Barbie really do just perfectly embody how Liberalism seeks to overcome its own origins. It's ashamed it even has any at all, because the very fact that it's the product of a particular people in a particular place at a particular time undermines the latent universality that modern Liberalism offers the world.
It so desperately wants to present itself as simply "being a good person." It views itself as nothing more than pure morality applied through politics. Liberalism is an ideology that wants to self-actualize itself, and like Frankenstein's Monster, the only way it can do that is to destroy any trace of its own origins.
I sometimes envy how the Japanese do not have to deal with these sort of ridiculous questions the way my country does.
Everyone knows who the Japanese are. Everyone understands which country is theirs and that they have a right to call that land their home.
Everyone also understands that it would be an act of aggression for a foreign people to come in by the millions, claim Japan for themselves, and impose their foreign culture and way of life on the country and that the Japanese people have every right to defend their own existence as a pre-political “we”.
But the moment this scenario is applied to America, suddenly everyone pretends like these are complicated questions.
Far be it me to tell the Japanese about how to run their country, but my advice would be to jealously guard your identity and your borders. Once you have a critical mass of foreigners living in your country, the same identity crisis that has struck America will come for you.
Do not let strangers into your home unless you’re prepared for them to remain forever, because removing them is infinitely more difficult than bringing them in. Nothing is worth the price of losing your country.
