A comforting interview with Ann Widdecombe on the subject of death:
"Does death frighten you?"
Ann: "No, I'll go to heaven and be with my mother, my father and my brother."
That's exactly where she is. 🕊️
This is what forgetting Christianity does to a civilization:
“The modern world imagines that it has outgrown religion. It has done nothing of the kind. It has merely forgotten it. And because it has forgotten it, it no longer understands itself.
Men do not realize that the whole framework of their moral judgments, their political habits, and even their intellectual methods were formed within a Christian society and cannot exist long outside it. When that framework breaks, they will not find themselves enlightened, but bewildered; not free, but enslaved; not rational, but confused.”
— Hilaire Belloc, Europe and the Faith
“A reformed Tory Party is probably the most potent vehicle.”
The evidence keeps piling up, yet some people still insist Rupert Lowe isn’t a Tory. That takes a remarkable amount of selective hearing.
Charlie Kirk’s warning that ‘when people stop talking, that’s when you get violence’ has never felt more apt.
Increasingly, progressive activists aren’t content with howling down their opponents. They are also resorting to violence. We have seen this yet again with the brutal assault on right-wing activist Gregory Moffitt – known online as ‘Young Bob’ – on the streets of Manchester this week.
The attack exposes the intolerance of those who refuse to engage in open debate. And we must be under no illusions as to where this intolerance leads.
The ability to debate in good faith has deteriorated sharply in recent years, as cancel culture has embedded itself across university campuses. We must change that.
